I Forget About It All…

Wow. It’s been a long time since I clicked “New Post” on here. I set these lofty expectations for myself and promised to start working on Newborn Rodeo again today, but truth be told, I’m not sure if that’s something I’m capable of doing. My life consists of more obligations, more aspirations, and less stability than ever before. That’ll kill blog dreams in a minute.

Speaking of dreams, I’m living a few of those right now. Fuck you think I stopped posting all summer for? If I went into the details of everything I did during those glorious three months with Complex in New York you’d be impressed, but that’s corny. Use your imagination.

The point is: I don’t think I can keep up with Newborn Rodeo anymore. I’m back at school. I’m still writing for Complex. I’m spending every waking second making sure I can call the city pictured above “home” when I graduate. Whatever the case, I’ll always appreciate this site and everything it’s done for me. One year ago I was directionless and the ability to escape to NBR everyday put me in the position I’m in presently.

Now, after all of that, this is less of a priority. It’s a little fucked up, right? Surely you understand me though. If it’s any consolation, I’m reconsidering my vague departure from the world of Newborn Rodeo with every keystroke. You might visit again and see me back to my old ways, but no guarantees.

Until then, I’m in my zone…

I’m interested in the fit of these jeans, considering my affinity for 511′s, but I’m already sold on them, for the most part. I love the fact that they have a slight subtlety about them, but anybody who knows anything knows that there’s nothing that subtle about an Original Fake x Levi’s collaboration. Which is good, ha.

Damn it’s nice to see Blink 182 back together. They kicked their “reunion” off with this performance of “The Rock Show” on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.

You can find a performance of “All The Small Things” after the jump. They have much better songs, I know, but these records are classics. I’m definitely copping tickets for the summer tour later this week.

In case you haven’t noticed, it’s been a while since I blogged. A three and a half week hiatus is like a thousand year hiatus in the blogosphere. But still I rise. Watch NBR return to it’s former glory quicker than you can say Technorati.

Point is: I missed a lot, including all of these music videos. The best of the batch is the Yeah Yeah Yeahs clip for “Heads Will Roll”, one of my favorites from the new album. The Michael Jackson and Quentin Tarantino influences are key.
